What the free initial consultation covers
The first conversation is for understanding the problem and identifying the service. Explain whether the issue concerns personal income, a company, rental property or an HMRC letter. We establish the period, the immediate deadline and the outcome you are seeking before recommending next steps.
This is not an unlimited technical advice appointment. It does not include preparing a return, checking a complete tax computation, producing a written opinion or representing you in a dispute. Those services require records, review and an agreed fee before work starts.
Questions you can bring to the first conversation
You may need to know whether a return is required, how to organise rental records, which company filing is due or what kind of help an HMRC letter needs. Directors may also want to compare one-off accounts with ongoing compliance or discuss a handover from another adviser.
Describe proposed transactions before taking action where possible. We can identify the relevant work, but a free scoping discussion should not be treated as approval to sell a property, extract company money or change ownership without the necessary detailed assessment.
Prepare a short summary—not a bundle of passwords
Note your legal structure, income sources, relevant tax years, deadlines and any existing adviser. If a letter has a response date, include that date in the enquiry. For a company, the public company name and number help identify the filing position.
Keep identity documents, bank details, passwords and authentication codes out of the public booking notes. If an engagement follows, we explain the secure process for records and authorisations. The initial summary is enough to route the conversation.
South London appointment choices
Our published office is 12 London Road, Morden, London SM4 5BQ. We serve South London clients including Morden, Croydon, Sutton, Wimbledon and Mitcham. Book before visiting; office meetings are by appointment, not a walk-in tax clinic.
Use the free consultation booking page to request the discussion and choose the available arrangement. Phone and online options avoid unnecessary travel. Appointment availability is shown by the booking process; we do not promise same-day meetings or a fixed consultation duration here.
What happens after the consultation
If you need work carried out, the next stage is a written scope covering the taxpayer, periods, deliverables, exclusions and fee. You decide whether to proceed. Authorisations, identity checks and document access follow the engagement process where required.
If the issue needs specialist legal, investment or statutory audit expertise, that capability must be confirmed rather than assumed. No tax saving, penalty cancellation or successful dispute outcome is guaranteed by the consultation.
Urgent issues and 2026 tax obligations
Tell us immediately about an overdue return, disposal reporting date or an HMRC response deadline. Booking a consultation does not extend a statutory deadline or suspend penalties. Time-sensitive work needs an explicit feasibility check before acceptance.
For 2025/26 Self Assessment, the normal online filing deadline is 31 January 2027. MTD for Income Tax starts from April 2026 for qualifying individuals over the £50,000 gross qualifying-income threshold, subject to HMRC’s rules. Use the official guidance below for eligibility and do not wait for the annual return if quarterly obligations apply.
