Contractors must file a monthly CIS return by the 19th of each month, even in a month with no payments, when a nil return is required. Late returns attract a £100 penalty immediately, rising with delay.
Deduction rates are 20% for verified subcontractors and 30% where verification fails, with 0% for gross payment status. A limited company subcontractor offsets CIS suffered against its PAYE liabilities.

The relevant calendar may include annual accounts, Corporation Tax payment and return dates, confirmation statements, VAT returns, payroll submissions and Self Assessment. We map the dates from your company year end and registrations.
