Our history
Accounting heritage dating back to before World War II
From pre-war roots to King & Cruse in the 1970s, evolving into Cruse + Burke in 1992 and becoming part of ACCOTAX in 2019 — our accounting heritage spans more than 85 years.
Our accounting heritage originates from an established practice whose roots date back to before the Second World War.
The predecessor practice evolved through different partnerships and was known as King & Cruse during the 1970s.
Part of King & Cruse became Cruse + Burke. Led by Tony Cruse and Peter Burke, the practice continued serving individuals and businesses from its Croydon base.
ACCOTAX was founded as a modern UK accountancy and tax practice. This is ACCOTAX’s founding year; the earlier dates describe the predecessor practice’s heritage.
ACCOTAX acquired the established Cruse + Burke accountancy practice, bringing its longstanding heritage into ACCOTAX. Cruse + Burke subsequently became part of ACCOTAX London Limited.
The heritage continues through specialist limited-company accounting, cloud technology, automation and forward-thinking tax advice for UK businesses.
For generations, the practices behind ACCOTAX have helped businesses and individuals navigate their financial affairs. Today, LimitedCompany.Accountants continues that heritage with modern systems and specialist support.
Year end accounts, company tax returns, VAT, payroll, pensions and confirmation statements have to be right and on time. That part is table stakes. We run it to a fixed calendar so deadlines arrive as reminders rather than emergencies, and so nothing about your filing position is ever a surprise.
For an online business, the interesting questions sit underneath the profit figure. Which channel earns its acquisition cost back, and how fast? What does gross margin look like after payment fees, delivery and refunds? Which cohort retains? How much runway remains at the current burn, and what changes it? We build reporting that answers those questions monthly, not eleven months after the year end.
R&D claims, SEIS and EIS advance assurance, EMI options, share issues and profit extraction all have windows and conditions. Most of the value in this work comes from doing it in the right order at the right time, which is why we prefer to be in the conversation before the round, the hire or the sale.
