Is your tax advice really free?, Basic tax advice is free. If you call or email with a question about your limited company, a deadline, whether an expense is allowable, how dividends are taxed, whether you need to register for VAT, we answer it without a fee and without requiring you to become a client first.
What counts as chargeable technical work?, Anything that requires us to do the work rather than answer the question: computations, tax planning, filings, HMRC correspondence and enquiries, R&D claims, SEIS and EIS applications, share schemes and valuations, and written advice you can rely on. We quote and agree the fee before starting.
Why is written advice charged when a phone answer is not?, Written advice is prepared to a standard you can act on and we stand behind, which means checking your specific figures, records and circumstances. A general answer to a general question takes minutes; a reliable written opinion does not.
Can I get free advice before switching accountants?, Yes. Most people who call us are comparing options. We will tell you plainly whether your current setup looks reasonable, and if switching would not help you, we will say so.
How much does a limited company accountant cost after that?, For a micro-entity with clean records, a fixed monthly fee covering annual accounts, the corporation tax return and confirmation statement support is the normal starting point, with bookkeeping, VAT and payroll priced on top. We confirm the figure after seeing your records, in writing, before any work begins.
Do you charge for the first consultation?, No. The introductory consultation is free, we look at your year end, what you file now and where the gaps are, then send a fixed-fee scope. Book one through the consultation page or call the office.
Can HMRC advise me for free instead?, HMRC helplines can confirm rules, deadlines and your own account position, and GOV.UK guidance is free to read. What they will not do is tell you which option is better for your company, that judgement is what an accountant is for.
