What are the micro-entity thresholds?, Meet two of three: turnover no more than £1m, balance sheet total no more than £500,000, and no more than 10 employees. The uplifted limits apply to financial years starting on or after 6 April 2025.
Is FRS 105 always the right choice?, No. It forbids revaluation and deferred tax, so companies with property or lending needs are often better served by FRS 102 Section 1A.
Do micro-entities file a profit and loss account?, Yes, under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act reforms, small and micro companies must file a profit and loss account with Companies House.
Does micro status reduce the tax return?, No. HMRC still requires a full CT600 with accounts and computations.
What if we outgrow the thresholds?, You generally only change framework after failing the tests for two consecutive years, so one strong year does not force a move.
