What statutory accounts are
Statutory accounts are the annual financial statements a company must prepare under the Companies Act 2006. They contain a balance sheet, the notes required for the company's size and, for HMRC, a profit and loss account. Directors approve them; one director signs the balance sheet. Management reports, budgets and dashboards are not statutory accounts.
The same accounting year produces two related obligations: filing accounts with Companies House and submitting a Company Tax Return with accounts and computations to HMRC. We prepare both from one reconciled set of figures so the two records agree.
Which accounts framework applies to your company
From 6 April 2025, a company is generally micro-entity sized when it meets two of three tests: turnover up to £1 million, balance sheet total up to £500,000 and no more than 10 employees. Small-company limits are turnover up to £15 million, balance sheet up to £7.5 million and no more than 50 employees. Some companies are excluded whatever their size.
Micro-entities can use FRS 105 with minimal disclosures; other small companies normally use FRS 102 Section 1A. Most small private companies can claim audit exemption, but group, regulated and some other companies cannot. We check eligibility rather than assuming the lightest format is available.
Deadlines London directors must diarise
A private company normally files accounts at Companies House within nine months of its accounting reference date. First accounts covering more than 12 months are normally due 21 months after incorporation, or three months after the reference date if later. Corporation Tax is usually payable nine months and one day after the accounting period ends, and the CT600 is due 12 months after it ends.
Changing a year end, a long first period or a period over 12 months can split tax and accounts deadlines. Use our deadline checker or ask us to confirm dates from the Companies House record before relying on a rule of thumb.
How the service works
You share bank statements, sales and purchase records, loans, director's loan movements and payroll information, or give access to your accounting software. We reconcile the balances, draft the accounts and tax computation, raise queries and send drafts for review. Nothing is filed until a director approves.
After approval, we file the accounts and CT600 using compatible software and confirm acceptance. Paper and WebFiling routes are changing as Companies House moves towards software filing, so we use the route available at the filing date. Office visits in Morden are by appointment; most London clients work with us online.
What is not automatically included
Statutory accounts do not include monthly bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, director Self Assessment, confirmation statements or company-secretarial changes unless selected. Missing records, multiple overdue years and corrections to prior filings are assessed before a quote. Companies House and other government fees are separate from our charges.
Audits are not offered through this page. If your company is not audit-exempt, we will say so rather than prepare accounts on an unsupported basis.
Fees for London companies
Our one-off Year End Accounts and CT600 price depends on turnover band and company type; the lowest trading band starts at £450.40. Dormant companies have fixed separate prices, and LLP and charity accounts carry their own published rates. Ongoing packages spread the accounts with other selected compliance work.
London location does not change our published online price. Compare quotes for the same period and deliverables, and check whether a lower fee excludes the CT600, Companies House filing or query handling.
