Free Consultation With a Limited Company Accountant

If you run a UK limited company you can speak to an accountant before committing to anything. Bring questions about your annual accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT, payroll, Companies House filings, how you pay yourself as a director, or changing accountants. The first conversation is free, there is no obligation, and any work you need afterwards is quoted in writing first.

Speak to a Limited Company Accountant

Most directors get in touch because something is unclear rather than because they have decided to switch firms. You might want to know whether your accounts look right, why your Corporation Tax bill is what it is, whether you should register for VAT, or what to do about a letter from Companies House.

The initial conversation is exactly that: a chance to describe your company and your concern, and to get an honest view on whether professional work is actually needed. Sometimes the answer is a short explanation and nothing more. Where it is not, we tell you what the work involves and what it costs before you decide, using the same fixed monthly fees published on the site.

We are an ICAEW, ACCA and AAT qualified team based in Morden, south London, working with company directors across London and the rest of the UK. You can read how we work or look at our client reviews before you book.

Questions

Free consultation FAQs

Is the accountant consultation really free?

Yes. The initial consultation is free and there is no obligation to become a client. We only charge once you accept a written quotation for work you have asked us to do.

Can I speak to an accountant before becoming a client?

Yes. The consultation exists precisely so you can speak to a qualified accountant first, see how we work and decide afterwards whether you want to engage us.

What can I discuss during the free consultation?

Anything about your limited company: accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT, payroll, dividends, director's loans, Companies House filings, expenses or changing accountants. Complex technical work is scoped and quoted separately.

Can you help with Corporation Tax?

Yes. We prepare Corporation Tax computations and CT600 returns, explain how your profit translates into tax and help you plan for the payment date, which falls before the return is due.

Can you help if my company accounts are overdue?

Yes, and the sooner the better. Companies House penalties increase the longer accounts stay outstanding, so we prioritise late filings, bring the records up to date and set out realistic options.

Can I discuss a director's loan account or S455 tax?

Yes. We look at how the balance arose, whether it can be cleared before the S455 charge applies, and how repayment, salary or dividends compare for your situation.

Can you advise on salary and dividends?

Yes. We review how you currently take money from the company, whether the dividend paperwork stands up, and how the split between salary and dividends affects the company and you personally.

Can you help me change accountants?

Yes. We write to your current accountant for professional clearance and records, register as your agent with HMRC and take over your filings. The handover itself is free.

Can I get help with Companies House penalties?

Yes. We explain how the penalty was calculated, what the filing position is now, and whether an appeal has any realistic grounds. We cannot promise a penalty will be cancelled.

Can I discuss VAT registration or VAT problems?

Yes. Registration timing, choosing a scheme, Making Tax Digital and correcting returns that have been filed wrongly are all common consultation topics.

Is the consultation available online?

Yes. Most consultations happen by phone or video, so you can be anywhere in the UK. You are also welcome at our Morden office by appointment.

How long does the initial consultation take?

Usually around twenty to thirty minutes, which is enough to understand your company and give you a clear direction. Complicated situations may need a follow up.

What information should I have ready?

Your company number, accounting year end, last set of accounts if you have them, roughly what the company turns over, and the specific question you want answered. Please do not email sensitive records before we are engaged.

Will I receive a quote if I need accounting services?

Yes. If work is needed you receive a written fixed-fee quotation covering the scope before anything starts, so there are no surprise bills. Our published fees are a good starting point.

Still unsure?

Need Help With Your Limited Company?

Ask the question. If it needs technical work you will get a written fixed-fee quote before anything starts.

Prefer to write first?

Send us the details instead.

Tell us your year end, what you file now and where you want help. We reply by email with a sensible next step. Please do not send sensitive financial records here.

Please don’t send bank details or sensitive records through this form.
