What has to be disclosed
Where a corporate shareholder is registrable, its name, registered or principal office, legal form, governing law and any register it appears on abroad must be filed, alongside the date it acquired significant control. This applies whichever jurisdiction the parent company is incorporated in.
If no individual can be identified as ultimately controlling the corporate shareholder, that itself must be stated, and ECCTA's continuing reforms are tightening scrutiny of ownership chains that obscure the real controller, so opaque nominee structures are increasingly a red flag rather than a shield.
