Professional bodies such as ICAEW and ACCA require the incoming accountant to contact the previous one for professional clearance. The outgoing firm should pass on the information needed to continue the work.
The new accountant then registers as agent with HMRC for Corporation Tax, PAYE, VAT and Self Assessment as needed.
