When are my filings due? Free company filing checker

Type your company name or 8-character company number. We ask the Companies House public register for your next accounts and confirmation statement due dates, show how many days you have left, and flag anything already overdue.

The short answer

A private limited company must file accounts at Companies House within nine months of its year end (21 months after incorporation for the first accounts) and a confirmation statement within 14 days of the end of each 12-month review period. This checker reads both dates live from the Companies House register.

Dates come live from the Companies House public register.

Where the dates come from

Every limited company's next accounts and confirmation statement dates are published on the Companies House register. This checker uses the official Companies House public data API, so the dates you see are the same ones Companies House will enforce.

If you have recently changed your accounting reference date or filed something today, the register can take a short while to update.

What happens if a date has passed

Late accounts trigger an automatic Companies House penalty for private companies of £150 (up to one month late), £375 (one to three months), £750 (three to six months) or £1,500 (more than six months), doubled if accounts were also late the previous year. A late confirmation statement has no fixed penalty, but it is an offence and can lead to the company being struck off.

If anything shows as overdue, our fixed-fee overdue services are built to file quickly. We are an independent firm of Chartered Accountants, not Companies House or HMRC.

Get reminders before each deadline

Add your email under any result and we will remind you 60, 30 and 7 days before the next due date, with a one-click link to have it filed for a fixed fee.

Common questions

When is my confirmation statement due?

Within 14 days after the end of your review period, which normally runs 12 months from incorporation or from your last statement. The checker shows the exact date from Companies House.

When are my limited company accounts due at Companies House?

Nine months after your accounting year end for a private company. First accounts are due 21 months after the date of incorporation.

Is this checker free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no charge. Reminders are optional and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Does it show my corporation tax deadlines?

Companies House does not publish HMRC dates. As a rule, corporation tax is payable nine months and one day after your accounting period ends and the CT600 is due 12 months after it ends.
