Short answer

An online accountant for a limited company runs the same statutory work as a high street firm, with cloud software, digital approvals and electronic filing. Accounts, Corporation Tax and confirmation statements are all submitted online, and you keep a named contact.

How the online service works

Records flow in through bank feeds and receipt capture, we review and reconcile, then prepare the accounts and computation. You review a draft, approve it electronically, and we file with Companies House and HMRC. Nothing needs posting.

Filing ltd company accounts online

Statutory accounts are filed with Companies House in the format the size regime requires, while HMRC receives the accounts, the tax computation and the CT600 together. Filing online also gives an immediate submission receipt, which matters when a deadline is close.

Security and access

Records stay in your accounting software under your ownership, so you keep access if you ever move firms. Documents are exchanged through secure channels rather than plain email attachments.

When online is not enough

Complex restructures, disputes and some planning work benefit from a meeting. We arrange those at the Morden office or by video, whichever suits.

What Our Clients Say

Rated 4.9 out of 5From 302 Google reviews
Accotax have been our accountants for many years now. We maintained them because of their professionalism. In the last couple of years I have been working with Imran, who has been very professional and helpful in guiding us through the whole process, explaining and clarifying every aspect of it. Very prompt in responding to questions and patient with us even when we seem to be slow.
Mansur Liman · Long-standing company client
We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we're really glad we did. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing, professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.
Mael Leboucher · Year end accounts & bookkeeping
I've been working with Accotax since January 2024, and their support has grown alongside my business needs. My personal allocated manager, Umer, provides tailored services for both of my companies, adapting as I expand and ensuring everything runs smoothly. They are responsive, knowledgeable, and always clear in their communication. Their help with accounts, VAT, payrolls, pensions and compliance gives me real confidence and peace of mind.

Frequently asked

Online accountants for limited companies: questions directors ask

Is an online accountant cheaper?

Usually, because digital records remove manual work. The saving depends on how clean your bookkeeping is, not on the label.

Can I file ltd company accounts online myself?

Yes, Companies House and HMRC both allow online filing, but the directors carry responsibility for accuracy, the tax computation and the correct reporting regime.

Which software do you use?

Xero mainly, and QuickBooks or other mainstream packages where you already use them.

Will I ever speak to a person?

Yes. A named contact by phone, video or email, and in person at Morden if you prefer.

How do you verify my identity?

Through standard anti money laundering checks completed securely online before the engagement starts.

What do your packages cost?

Published packages start from £89 plus VAT monthly, with £169 and £289 plus VAT tiers for busier businesses. The final fee follows the agreed scope, not an hourly estimate.

Can you take over from my current accountant?

Yes. We request professional clearance, collect the accounting and tax records, review every approaching deadline and manage the handover so no filing is missed.

Is basic tax advice included?

Routine day-to-day questions are included. Technical calculations, written advice, planning projects, HMRC disputes and specialist claims are scoped and agreed before any work starts.

How quickly can I get a fixed fee quote?

Use the short online quote form with your turnover, VAT, payroll and bookkeeping position. We can normally confirm scope and a fixed monthly fee the same working day.

Do you only work with London businesses?

No. We act for businesses across the UK online, and work locally with owners in London, Morden, Croydon, Sutton, Wimbledon, Mitcham and Surrey.
