Short answer

A fixed monthly fee covers the routine annual compliance agreed for your package, such as accounts and corporation tax. One-off events like company incorporation changes, HMRC enquiries, complex restructuring and additional companies are usually extra, and Companies House fees are always passed on at cost with no VAT added.

Typical extras

Unusual or one-off work sits outside the standard monthly scope: things such as a full HMRC enquiry into the company's tax affairs, a share restructuring, preparing forecasts for a bank or investor, or advice on a significant one-off transaction like selling the business.

If your circumstances change during the year, such as registering for VAT partway through, taking on payroll for the first time, or adding a second company, the package or fee is usually reviewed to reflect the extra ongoing work rather than being absorbed silently into the existing price.

Disbursements and third-party costs

Companies House fees, for example for incorporating a company or filing certain changes, are charged to you at cost, exactly what Companies House charges, with no VAT added, because these are statutory government fees rather than part of our service.

Other third-party costs, such as company formation agent charges if used, or postage for physical documents, are similarly passed through rather than built into the monthly fee, so you always know what relates to our service and what is a direct cost.
