Short answer

Combining accounting and payroll gives a small business one reconciled source for wages, PAYE, pensions, bookkeeping, VAT and year-end accounts. We run agreed payroll cycles, submit RTI, manage routine pension data and post payroll into the accounts so staff costs and liabilities remain clear.

What an integrated service covers

The scope can combine bookkeeping, VAT, payroll calculations, payslips, Full Payment Submissions, Employer Payment Summaries, pension files, statutory accounts, Corporation Tax and owner tax. Responsibilities and cut-off dates are agreed at onboarding.

Payroll information and deadlines

Employers provide starters, leavers, hours, salary changes, bonuses, absences and deductions before the payroll cut-off. The Full Payment Submission normally reaches HMRC on or before payday, and PAYE payments follow the employer's payment schedule.

Workplace pension duties

Employers must assess workers, enrol eligible staff, calculate contributions, issue required communications and complete re-enrolment duties. Payroll data and the pension provider must reconcile each pay period.

Why payroll must reconcile to accounts

Net wages, PAYE, National Insurance, pension deductions and employer costs create different balances. Posting only the net bank payment hides liabilities and distorts staff cost. We post and reconcile the full payroll journal.

Support as the team grows

A small payroll can sit within a compliance package. As headcount, benefits, international workers or reporting needs grow, we can add management accounts, cash forecasting and finance support while specialist employment advice remains with an appropriate adviser.

What Our Clients Say

Rated 4.9 out of 5From 302 Google reviews
Accotax have been our accountants for many years now. We maintained them because of their professionalism. In the last couple of years I have been working with Imran, who has been very professional and helpful in guiding us through the whole process, explaining and clarifying every aspect of it. Very prompt in responding to questions and patient with us even when we seem to be slow.
Mansur Liman · Long-standing company client
We worked with a few different accountants before finally settling with Accotax, and we're really glad we did. They take the time to understand how our business works and what our needs are. Anum, who looks after our account on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling invoices and preparing the annual accounts, is amazing, professional, efficient, and follows the processes we have put in place together. Accotax has made our accounting experience much smoother and easier. We see them as a long-term partner as our business continues to grow. I would 100% recommend them.
Mael Leboucher · Year end accounts & bookkeeping
I've been working with Accotax since January 2024, and their support has grown alongside my business needs. My personal allocated manager, Umer, provides tailored services for both of my companies, adapting as I expand and ensuring everything runs smoothly. They are responsive, knowledgeable, and always clear in their communication. Their help with accounts, VAT, payrolls, pensions and compliance gives me real confidence and peace of mind.

Can you take over from my current accountant?

Yes. We obtain professional clearance, collect the accounting and tax records, check every approaching deadline and manage the handover without interrupting filings.

Can the whole service be handled online?

Yes. Records, approvals and meetings can all be handled securely online. Clients near London can also meet our team at 12 London Road, Morden by appointment.
